Welcome Welcome to the sixth grade band! We are led by Mr. Hooten, Mr. Whitworth, and Ms. Cornwell. Each teacher works with a specific group in the band:

Supplies Sixth grade band students are separated into three different groups; brass, woodwinds, and percussion each group will need different supplies. All woodwind and brass players will need a Tradition of Excellence book that applies to the instrument they are playing. Brass: Brass players will need valve oil and slide grease for their horns, or they will need the money to buy them from the school. Trombones will need a slick kit for beginning band. Woodwinds: All woodwind players will need to have a swab In addition to a swab, students that play the Clarinet or Saxophone will need cork grease, and 4 good reeds, or the money to buy them. Percussion: Percussionists will need a snare/bell combo kit, drum sticks-SD1 General, mallets, and 2 beginner books- A Fresh Approach to Snare Drum and A Fresh Approach to Mallet Percussion.
